So often we put things into our bodies that are harmful to us. The kidneys and liver can sometimes suffer the consequences. This is because both of these work to help detoxify your body. But, you can make their job a little bit easier by flushing your system with water.
The great thing about clean water is that you won’t be adding any properties into your system for your kidney or liver to detoxify. Instead, you’ll actually be assisting the body in removing toxins. Your kidneys and digestive system need adequate water to function correctly. It also helps to clear out the liver. Allowing your body to detoxify more efficiently. But, if you’re not drinking enough water, you could potentially be holding on to more toxins and making things harder on your system.
If you’re not a water drinker, consider starting to add a little bit more into your diet daily. Make sure to start with water first thing in the morning. You can even add half a lemon to your water to help your body get hydrated. This also adds some refreshing flavor too.
Start carrying around a water bottle. This will encourage you to drink more often. Fill it up, this way you’ll keep a good record of how much you’re drinking throughout the day. Also, pay attention to your urine. It should be a straw yellow or pale yellow, but not clear. Clear could mean that you’re over-hydrating, which can be bad for you. If your urine starts to get darker than yellow, it probably means you’re dehydrated. Too dark, and it could mean a health issue, so talk to your doctor if this is the case.
